Why we built MediaDrop
Most video downloader websites are terrible. They're full of fake "Download" buttons designed to trick you into clicking ads, aggressive popups, redirect traps, and spammy UIs that make a simple task feel impossible.
MediaDrop was built as the opposite: a clean, minimal tool that gets out of your way. Paste a URL, get your download link, done.
How it works
When you paste a URL, MediaDrop sends it to our backend server, which uses yt-dlp — an open-source video extraction library — to fetch the available download formats directly from the source platform. We return those links to you. You download directly from the source. We never store your video.
